Industry Affiliations and Standards Activities

International Biometric Group's industry activities ensure that IBG clients receive up-to-the minute intelligence on emerging technical and industry-wide standards efforts. IBG closely tracks all biometric standards activities, and IBG maintains a definitive report on the state of biometric technology standards.

ISO/IET/JTC1 SC37 Biometrics

IBG biometric subject matter experts participate in the development of international biometric standards as U.S. delegates and Heads of Delegation to SC37. IBG subject matter experts develop and edit biometric standards for performance testing and reporting. IBG was a sponsor of the initial ISO/IEC JTC1/SC37 Biometrics meeting, December 11-13, 2002, in Orlando, Florida.

INCITS - M1 Biometrics

IBG is a voting member of International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) Technical Committee M1 Biometrics, the central standards development effort in the U.S. An IBG subject matter expert serves as vice chairperson on the M1 Task Group on Biometric Performance Testing and Reporting, and was the editor of the recently-approved biometric scenario testing standard. IBG hosted the INCITS M1 and M1 Task Group/Ad Hoc Meetings in January of 2004 in New York City.

X9

IBG is a member of the X9F Data & Information Security Committee, a financial services committee dedicated to standardizing issues related to data and information security. IBG also contributed to the X9.84-2003 Biometric Information Management and Security for the Financial Services Industry standard.

CBEFF

IBG is a CBEFF (Common Biometric Exchange Framework Format) Format Owner. CBEFF is a data format that enables data interchange between different system components or between systems. CBEFF is incorporated into various emerging standards efforts. By maintaining a CBEFF format, IBG can deliver CBEFF-compliant solutions, a requirement in many government applications.

Biometric Consortium

IBG is a member of the Biometric Consortium's Biometrics Interoperability, Performance, and Assurance Working Group.

CATA Biometrics Group

IBG is on the advisory board for the CATA (Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance) Biometrics Group.
