IBG has been awarded a contract to assist the Texas Health and Humans Services Commission (HHSC) in administering the Medicaid Eligibility and Health Information Services (MEHIS) contract. The MEHIS system will replace the current paper Medicaid identification form with a permanent plastic card, automate eligibility verification, and establish a foundation for future health information exchange for improved efficiency, continuity of care, and health outcomes. Additionally, the MEHIS system will improve efficiency of the check-in process and will improve Medicaid client and provider access to information through a web-based portal and provide an interactive voice response (IVR) system.

As the MEHIS IV&V contractor, IBG will support HHSC in administering the Medicaid EHI Services contract by:

• Monitoring and reporting on MEHIS vendor performance, specifically related to quality, risk management and issues resolution
• Exploring opportunities to maximize efficiency and reduce costs in the administration of the affected State programs
• Offering recommendations and possible alternatives to HHSC to achieve the goals and objectives of the Medicaid EHI project
• Providing project management and strategic planning support
