Fingerprint Form Factors

Form factor is a term used to describe the manner in which a biometric sensor is imbedded into an acquisition device, Biometric sensor, in particular fingerprint sensors, can be imbedded on top of a device, on its side, recessed or protruding. Some biometric devices require users to sweep their fingers across them while others require that users place their fingers on the sensors and hold them still until they are authenticated.
